The sports surfacing process includes the installation of a series of coatings. The initial courses are made up of multiple layers of a special acrylic material designed to fill in any voids and smooth out any imperfections in the asphalt or concrete base.
These top courses are another special acrylic material designed to create the correct playing finish for the game. These top courses include the pigments necessary to create the color desired for the surface as well. Depending on speed of play, various other materials can be added to these top courses such as sands and rubber materials.
