Procedure: The project kicked off with asphalt removal and replacement of seven deteriorated areas followed by asphalt resurfacing on Day 1. Asphalt resurfacing is a cost-effective structural repair for parking lots. The first step in asphalt resurfacing is to prepare the area by sweeping and cleaning the parking lot of dirt and debris. Next, our team applied a tack coat primer and performed transitional milling for a smooth surface. After milling was complete, a leveling binder was applied to all low or depressed areas of pavement to help promote proper pitch. From there, hot mix bituminous asphalt was installed to approximately 1.5 inches in depth and compacted with a multi-ton vibratory roller. Day 2 of the project consisted of sealcoating the fire lane and striping.
