BRIDGEVIEW, IL – August, 2007
Rose Paving and its preferred vendors announced today that they will donate time, materials, and paving services to build a driveway and parking lot at the future site of a new Ronald McDonald House® affiliated with Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois. The House, which will be located directly across the street from the hospital, will provide temporary accommodations in a home-like setting for up to 16 families of children receiving treatment.
The paving phase is expected to begin in March of 2008. At that time, Rose Paving along with Armato Paving, Mar-G Trucking, Vulcan Materials, and Crowley-Sheppard Asphalt will collaborate to provide the necessary materials and man power for this unique project. "Through our internal community relations program, our company has had the privilege to serve the Ronald McDonald House Charities® in several different capacities. But, this is the first time that we have been able to involve outside relationships in our efforts. We are thrilled our vendors have decided to join us in helping those in need and giving back to our community,” said Ed Campbell, President.
Currently, the Oak Lawn hospital does not have housing available for the families of patients. The newly constructed House will help alleviate this situation and provide a much-needed retreat for families of seriously ill children. Architects and construction teams anticipate an opening date in summer of 2008.

About the Ronald McDonald House Charities®
The idea behind the Ronald McDonald House program is simple: Provide a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
Some children must travel great distances to get medical attention. In-hospital treatment may last one day, one year, or longer. For these children’s families, accommodations can be hard to come by. Options often are limited to costly hotels or uncomfortable hospital chairs and benches.
The Ronald McDonald House provides a comfortable, supportive alternative. It serves as a temporary residence near the medical facility where family members can sleep, eat, relax, and find support from other families in similar situations. In return, families are asked to make a donation ranging on average from $5 to $20 per day; but, if that isn’t possible, their stay is free.
